The brief
A WSL club that needed a site to match its ambition
London City Lionesses is a professional Women's Super League football club based in Aylesford, Kent. Fans visit the website for different reasons: checking fixtures, reading about players, buying kit and catching up on club news. The club needed a bold Wix Studio site that matched its ambition and brought all of that together in one place. Match information, a squad area, retail and fan content all had to sit comfortably side by side, and the content needed to be easy for the club to keep current across a busy season without a developer on call.
The build
Matchday, squad and shop under one roof
We rebuilt London City Lionesses in Wix Studio with a striking design that captures the energy of professional women's football and works well on mobile, where most fans browse. Players, fixtures and club content run on Wix CMS, including a squad dropdown and a WSL league table. We built a custom Velo product page for the shop with personalisation charging, back-in-stock notifications and size guides, and a programmes CMS holding over 80 items. Built a bold, matchday-ready site
We designed a striking Wix Studio site that captures the energy of a professional football club. It works well on mobile, so fans can check fixtures, players and news on their phone on matchday.
Brought squad and fixtures together
We structured players, fixtures and club content in CMS collections, including a squad dropdown and a WSL league table, so fans always have current information and the club updates content in one place.
Built a custom retail experience
We developed a custom Velo product page with personalisation charging, back-in-stock notifications and size guides, giving fans a proper shopping experience for kit and merchandise alongside the football content.
Created a large programmes CMS
We built a programmes CMS holding over 80 items, giving the club an easy way to keep matchday and season content organised, searchable and current without rebuilding pages.
