The brief
A busy online shop that couldn't afford downtime
The Embroidery Shop in Reading, Berkshire, is an established online shop selling embroidered products to schools and clubs. Their problem was privacy. Each school or club needed to see only its own products and pricing, and competitors needed to be kept out. On top of that, the shop was already taking orders every day, so a long migration with the site offline was out of the question. The rebuild had to go live in a single switch, without interrupting sales, and the team's product upload routine had to stay familiar.
The build
A private ecommerce area for every school and club
We rebuilt The Embroidery Shop as a Wix Studio ecommerce site with password-protected category pages for each school and club. Organisers hand out the password, so parents and members see their own products and prices and nobody else does. We built on the existing Wix Stores setup, so the team kept the product upload process they already knew instead of learning a new system. Automations and forms support the day-to-day running of the shop. Because orders were coming in constantly, we planned the whole rebuild to launch in one switch. How we rebuilt The Embroidery Shop without losing a sale
Built password-protected school areas
We created a password-protected category page for every school and club. Organisers share the password, so each group sees only its own products and pricing, and competitors can't see what anyone pays.
Kept the workflow familiar
We built on the existing Wix shop system so the team's product upload process stayed the same. No retraining, no new admin to learn, just a better shop around it.

Because the shop was taking orders every day, we prepared the full rebuild behind the scenes and launched it in a single switch, so sales carried on without interruption.
Refreshed the brand online
We gave the shop a cleaner, more modern Wix Studio design with updated branding, so schools, clubs and parents get a professional experience from the first click.

The outcome
The Embroidery Shop now runs a Wix Studio store where every school and club has its own private, password-protected area with its own products and pricing. The rebuild went live in a single switch with no interruption to sales, and the team still upload products the way they always have. We also refreshed its sister brand, i-Prints, to match.
