Experience and background
I've run my own marketing services agency for the last 4 years, where I've supported businesses with their SEO content and email marketing. I'm now bringing that experience to help customers of The Wix Guys.
At The Wix Guys I write the words on our clients' websites: homepages, service pages, location pages and blog posts. Good website copy has two jobs. It has to tell a visitor quickly what you do, who you help and why they should choose you, and it has to use the words people actually type into Google, so the page gets found in the first place.
I work closely with our designers and our SEO team, so the copy, the layout and the keywords all pull in the same direction. Writing for a Wix website is not just about sounding good. Headings, page titles and meta descriptions all need to be clear, specific and written for the person searching, and that is where SEO content experience makes a real difference.
I also write for our own blog. My articles include our guide to Wix vs Shopify for ecommerce and plain English explainers on how web pages and web styling work, written for business owners who want to understand their website without the jargon.
I started my career as a physical therapist, but having children and the Covid pandemic led me to change careers into an industry that is more flexible and sustainable. I'm based in our northern office at The Guild on Abbey Street in Carlisle, and I work with clients all over the UK.
