The challenge
Great roofs, quiet phone
JMR Roofing have been roofing across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire since 2016: full re-roofs, flat roofs, lead work, VELUX roof windows, fascias, soffits and guttering, for homeowners and developers alike. The work speaks for itself, but for a roofer the thing that matters most is the phone ringing.
In September 2025 their Google Business Profile was seen 351 times and produced just 5 calls. Most local roofing searches never reach a website. They are decided on the map, so the profile had to do far more of the work.
What we did
Google Business Profile optimisation, backed by a stronger website
We started in July 2026 with a local SEO audit, then got to work on their Google Business Profile so it matched the searches people use when they need a roofer. We backed it up with improvements to the website, so Google and customers can both see the range and quality of their work.
The profile responded quickly. Calls went from 10 in July to 15 in August and 24 in September. Comparing September with September, profile views have more than doubled from 351 to 754, website clicks from the profile are up from 11 to 31, and calls from Google have gone from 5 to 24.
FAQs
Questions about this project
How can a roofer get more calls from Google?
Most local roofing searches are decided on the map, so your Google Business Profile does a lot of the work. For JMR Roofing, optimising the profile and backing it up with a stronger website took calls from Google from 5 in September 2025 to 24 in September 2026.
What is Google Business Profile optimisation?
It means making your profile match what people search for: the right categories and services, a clear description, accurate areas and hours, good photos and regular activity. Done well, it helps you appear in the map results and turns views into calls.
Do roofers still need a website if they have a Google profile?
Yes. People often check your website before they call, and Google uses it to understand what you do. A profile and a website that back each other up perform better than either on its own.
