The brief
A store that worked, but had grown messy
TopDec is a decorating supplies retailer based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, selling a huge range of products, brands and categories online. Their Wix Editor store was working and bringing in good money, and they wanted to stay on Wix Editor. But it had grown messy. The menu could not cope with the size of the range, so customers were scrolling endlessly to find anything. Products had also been built onto individual pages rather than category pages, which made uploading slow and awkward. They needed a store that was easier to navigate, easier to manage and more professional overall.
The build
A mega menu and a catalogue that makes sense
We rebuilt TopDec's store on Wix Editor, keeping the platform the team already knew while fixing what was holding it back. The navigation became a proper mega menu, so shoppers can jump straight to the brand or category they want. We restructured the whole catalogue around category pages, which makes adding and managing products far quicker. Rebuilt the store on Wix Editor
The store was already bringing in good money, so we kept TopDec on the Wix Editor platform they knew and rebuilt it to fix the issues holding it back, without forcing a platform change they did not need.
Built a proper mega menu
With so many products, brands and categories, the old menu could not cope and customers scrolled forever. We rebuilt the navigation as a mega menu so shoppers can reach any part of the range in a couple of clicks.
Re-categorised the entire catalogue
Products had been built onto individual pages instead of category pages, which made uploads slow. We restructured everything around proper category pages, so adding and managing products is far easier for the team.
Lifted the overall design
We reworked the hero section, headers and footers and tidied the general look, so the whole store feels more professional and does justice to the range of decorating supplies on offer.
The outcome
TopDec's store now has a mega menu and proper category structure in place of endless scrolling and awkward product uploads. Shoppers find what they need faster, and the team can manage a huge catalogue with far less effort.
