The brief
A store taking no orders at all
Tileright Oxford is an independent family tile showroom in Kidlington selling floor, wall, bathroom and kitchen tiles, roughly 60% retail and 40% fitting, stocking Ca'Pietra, Original Style, Winchester, Porcelanosa and Grespania. Their store had effectively stopped working. No orders and no sample requests were coming through, and delivery charges were suspected of never having been configured at all. When the owner's daughter ran the site it had been taking around 12 sample orders a week, and getting back to that was the explicit goal. The catalogue was also far too thin against a target of around 500 products, with no filtering, so nobody could search by colour or by indoor and outdoor. Visually it looked like just another tile shop when Will and Kyri wanted it to sit alongside suppliers like Ca'Pietra and Original Style. Two bad experiences with previous website help meant quality of output mattered a great deal.
The build
Premium enough to sit with their suppliers
A reskinned Wix storefront in a minimal high-end look, with around 500 products loaded, filtering by colour and use, sample variants and delivery charges applied automatically at checkout.
What we did
A store rebuilt to actually take orders
Reskinned to look like the brands they stock
White and dark grey with the brand's blue-green accent adjusted to a subtle sage, existing logo and font kept but the logo enlarged and centred. The homepage hero became a four to five image carousel with arrows and a slowed pan and zoom over approved Ca'Pietra and Original Style room settings.
Findable by how people actually shop
A filter system covering colour, indoor and outdoor and other attributes, a variant framework, and category pages for bathroom, kitchen, wall, floor and outdoor tiles in the right order. The Find the right tile for the space section was resized to fit five categories including Limestone & Marble, with sharper imagery.
Around 500 products, built properly
Products bulk-loaded from client spreadsheets and supplier image sets, each with a £4.95 sample variant plus the correct unit price, per tile, per square metre or per box, matching the unit type in the spreadsheet, with AI-written descriptions based on the existing products and per-product delivery charges where needed. Sample wording became Up to 3 samples for £4.95 with free UK delivery, and a further 200 products went in later.
Delivery fixed at the source
Delivery charges were implemented in the Wix back end so they apply automatically at checkout, with minimums amended to £45 and £75 for larger orders. This was the suspected reason orders had stopped.
The details that build trust
A timed welcome pop-up offering 10% off a first order, the supplier logo strip reordered by importance using real brand logos, a services and installation page, an About page keeping the clay and hand imagery, and a contact page with the map, address and showroom opening times corrected. The established in 1992 line was replaced with 40+ years trading.
Handed over, not just delivered
Their Google Business Profile was checked and updated to remove outdated street photography of the old premises, and a go-live training session covered Wix email marketing, social tools and adding products, with admin access so Will can load stock himself.
