The brief
An unusual proposition the old site never explained
Greg Heath spent 35 years as an independent financial advisor, sold his regulated firm in 2021, and now runs Pecunia Financial Planning in Chorley, Lancashire, offering non-regulated financial guidance: no products, no client money, just impartial planning and education. He sits in a genuine gap. Regulated advisors rarely take clients below £200,000, DIY platforms are daunting, and Pecunia serves the people in between at £1,200 against roughly £5,500 for equivalent planning. His DIY Wix Editor site wasn't explaining any of that to his 55 to 75 audience, and every word had to stay on the right side of FCA rules.
The build
Twelve pages that make the advice gap obvious
We moved Pecunia from Wix Editor to Wix Studio and built a twelve-page site that makes the gap obvious, reads easily for an older audience and holds the compliance line word by word. The homepage carries the Pecunia and Total Wealth Planner logos, an advice gap section, a six-card services grid, credentials, testimonials and a magazine teaser. A dedicated page, Financial Advice Isn't Just for the Wealthy, sits between Home and Services. Six service pages, a self-serve client magazine on the CMS and a live Google review feed complete the build, all written as guidance, never advice. See more of our finance website design.

How we built Pecunia a clear, compliant financial planning website
Six service pages, one per service
Retirement and Future Planning, Wealth Planning and Investment Guidance, Cash Flow Forecasting, Financial Roadmaps, Estate and Legacy Planning and Life Transition Planning each got a page. Greg rejected a side-scroll layout, so we drafted two alternatives and built his choice.
A compliance pass across every word
Under FCA rules Greg must never be described as a financial advisor, and the site must say guidance or planning, never advice. We reworded headings and ran a site-wide check so no advisor or advice language survived.
Credibility that reflects the business
The inherited By the Numbers block was misleading for a new company handling no client money, so we replaced it with 35+ years of expertise, five star reviews, no product sales, professionally qualified and the highest ethical standards.
A magazine and reviews he controls
The Client Magazine runs on a CMS simple enough for Greg to upload each new issue himself every two months. The testimonials page pairs a live Google review feed with written excerpts Google can index.
Made legible for older readers
We increased font sizes, rebalanced boxes and enlarged key sections for older readers, ran a full mobile pass, and dropped an unused ecommerce tier that was inflating his hosting cost.
The outcome
Pecunia now has twelve pages that explain a genuinely unusual proposition in plain words to the 55 to 75 audience it serves, and stay the right side of FCA language throughout. Credibility claims now match the business, Google reviews are on the page, and Greg has a magazine and blog he updates himself. The site finally does the explaining for him.
