The brief
A bookkeeper who refused to look corporate
Blu Bookkeeping is a bookkeeping business based in Reading, Berkshire. The owner wanted a professional website, but she was clear that it should not look like your average accountancy firm. She wanted it to be person-centric, built around her rather than the sector, and she came with distinctive ideas about the look and feel, including plants and greenery throughout. The challenge was making the site feel warm and personable while still giving clients the confidence they need when they hand over their books. Stiff, corporate finance templates were never going to do that.
The build
Personal branding with a professional backbone
We built Blu Bookkeeping a custom Wix Studio website with personal branding at its heart. Rather than starting from a generic finance template, we designed around the owner's own vision, weaving plants and greenery through the layout and imagery so the site feels calm, friendly and distinctive. Underneath the warmth, the structure stays tidy and credible, with clear service information, forms for enquiries and SEO-ready pages. The Wix CMS sits behind it so content can be kept up to date. It shows that website design for finance businesses does not have to look like everyone else.

She came with clear ideas about plants and greenery throughout. We turned that into a custom design system, using green tones and plant imagery across the site so it feels fresh and calm rather than corporate.
