The brief

Lots of formats and a self-confessed technophobe

Moments & Ink is a creative art studio in Sheringham on the North Norfolk coast, run by Jo. Her programme changes constantly: six-week art courses, one-day and evening workshops, Sip & Paint evenings, Crafty Afternoons, Saturday sessions, Creative Weekend Experiences, guest workshops and private hire. Each format books and pays differently, and the site had to handle all of them cleanly. Jo describes herself as a technophobe and would be adding events herself after launch, so nothing could be clever at the expense of being usable. Mid-build, a fire risk assessment and change of use planning requirement put accommodation-based retreats on hold.

The build

One site for every way to book a class

We built Moments & Ink in Wix Studio around a What's On structure that matches how Jo actually runs the studio. Wix Events handles ticketed sessions grouped by category, six-week courses can be booked as a full block or session by session, and some pages take booking requests instead of live bookings. Wix Gift Vouchers let people buy credit for any amount. Every event form carries privacy, marketing, photo and video, dietary and accessibility questions. Then we trained Jo to run it herself. It is the kind of practical booking setup we include in our Wix website packages.

What we did

An art studio booking website the owner can run herself

01

Restructured the navigation around What's On

Events became What's On throughout, alongside Weekends, About and Meet the Team, Private Events, Local Area and How to Find Us. Private Events appears in two places on purpose, because people arrive looking for it from different directions.

02

Matched booking to each format

Wix Events runs ticketed events with categories, so Sip & Paint sessions and workshops group together. Courses book as one payment for a six-week block or as single sessions, and some pages take booking requests instead.

03

Gift vouchers that work like credit

We set up Wix Gift Vouchers with code-based redemption through the store, so someone can buy a voucher for any amount and the recipient redeems it as credit against classes and workshops.

04

Handled the retreat change without a rebuild

When retreats were put on hold, we replaced all retreat language with Creative Weekend Experience and added a Local Accommodation page listing three campsites and three B&Bs, with links out to Airbnb and Booking.com.

05

Trained a non-technical owner

Handover included a free Wix account invite and a how-to video on adding events, plus a full mobile and responsive pass and QA across iPad, mobile and desktop. We tested checkout end to end and confirmed payment went through.

The results

2xDaily website visits after launch
10Orders in the first five weeks
13Form submissions in the first five weeks

Source: Wix Analytics, 24 days before launch compared with 36 days after (launch 28 August 2026).

The outcome

Moments & Ink now sells courses, workshops, Creative Weekend Experiences and gift vouchers from one Wix Studio site. Each format books the way it should, the retreat change was handled without a rebuild, and Jo adds her own events without needing to come back to us. For a self-described technophobe, that independence was the whole point.
