The brief
A charity site with three audiences to serve
Home-Start Shepway is a family support charity based in Folkestone, Kent, helping families across the Shepway area. Their website had three very different jobs to do. It needed to help families who might be struggling find support quickly and without fuss, encourage local people to volunteer their time, and give donors and supporters a clear reason and route to give. All of that had to sit within a site that felt warm, approachable and accessible, because many visitors arrive at a difficult moment. They needed a charity website that worked for every one of those audiences.
The build
Clear routes for families, volunteers and donors
We designed and built Home-Start Shepway a welcoming Wix Studio website with a calm, friendly feel. The structure gives each audience its own clear path: families can see what support is available and how to reach out, volunteers can find out what is involved and get in touch, and donors can give online through built-in forms and payments. A blog lets the charity share news and stories from its work. We kept the language simple and the layout uncluttered so it works for everyone. It reflects how we approach charity website design.
