The brief
Three businesses wearing one website
Be You Build run three divisions: rail infrastructure with platform extensions and on-track operations, commercial planned and reactive maintenance, and domestic building from extensions to full start-to-finish projects. Robin had been building the site himself. It was live but unfinished, and it broke on mobile in a way he could not solve: all the writing was mismatched and out of line, and you had to scroll down to read each section. The deeper problem was hierarchy. The company is roughly 90% rail-driven and wanted the site to lead with rail and attract rail professionals, with commercial second and domestic as infill. The existing build did not reflect that, rail photography had ended up in the domestic section, and some images showed operatives in other companies' branding.
The build
Rail first, and a site that works on a phone
A Wix Studio rebuild with three separate division sections in priority order, a full photography audit, director profiles and the mobile pass the client's own build never got. Each division has its own section and hero, so main contractors, facilities managers and homeowners all land on what is relevant to them, and the red and black branding carries through. It follows our approach to tradesmen website design.

Three divisions, each with its own front door
Reordered the business on the page
Division one rail, division two commercial and maintenance, division three building and domestic, each with its own section so main contractors, facilities managers and homeowners all land on what is relevant to them. The red and black branding was kept throughout.
New hero, chosen to reposition them
The client picked an on-track tunnel photograph specifically to show they are more than platform workers, and that now leads the site, with a separate hero on the rail division.
A photography audit across all three divisions
Images showing competitors' branding came out, misplaced rail photography was moved out of the domestic section, and client-supplied commercial, rail and domestic sets went in their proper places.
The people and the proof
Director profiles for Robin Pigg, Tom Munday and Daniel Cole showing competencies and skills, a meet the team element, and a scrolling gallery of the company's project showcase documents.
Fixed what the DIY build couldn't
A full mobile optimisation pass after desktop sign-off, which is the exact problem that had stalled his own build, plus navigation links that scroll to the right section rather than the page bottom, and click-to-call on the phone numbers.
Tidied the copy and the indexing
The 90% rail company line came out of the story section at the client's request, a duplicate numbered bullet was fixed, and SEO optimisation ran throughout with images properly tagged for Google.

The outcome
Be You Build now has three clearly separated divisions with rail leading, honest photography throughout, and a site that finally works properly on a phone.
