The brief
A well-run school site that needed a new custodian
PEK, the Petite École Kentoise, is a French school for French speakers in Maidstone, Kent. Their chairlady, who had a long marketing background, had been running the website herself. As she prepared to step down, the school needed someone to take on the ongoing maintenance and give the site a rebuild. She knew exactly what she wanted and pulled together a strong brief. The school also wanted to stay on Wix Editor, the platform its volunteers already knew, and needed events functionality and a set-up that would survive future changes on the committee.
The build
A Wix Editor rebuild built to outlast committees
Working from the chair's brief, we rebuilt PEK Maidstone's website on Wix Editor rather than moving it to a platform the team would need to relearn. We set up Wix Events so the school can promote and manage its events, used the CMS for content that changes often, and added enquiry forms and SEO foundations. Most importantly, we put ongoing maintenance and training in place. That means the website no longer depends on one person, and new committee members can pick it up with confidence. It is a model we use across our charity and community website design work.
What we did
Rebuilt, supported and easy to hand over
Took over as the chair stepped down
PEK's outgoing chairlady had been running the website herself. We worked from her detailed brief to take on the site, so nothing was lost as she handed over her responsibilities.
Rebuilt on the platform they knew
The school wanted to stay on Wix Editor, the platform its volunteers already knew, so we rebuilt the site there rather than forcing a move that would mean learning a new system.
Set up events and CMS content
We set up events functionality and CMS-driven content, so the school can promote its events and keep information current without needing technical help each time.
Put maintenance and training in place
We provide ongoing maintenance and training, so the school committee can manage the site confidently as chairpeople change over time, with us on hand when they need support.

The outcome
PEK Maidstone now has a rebuilt Wix Editor website with events, ongoing maintenance and training in place, so the school is no longer reliant on one person to keep it running. Christine Moses described the process as easy, responsive and efficient, and said we delivered exactly what the school needed.

The Wix Guys were fantastic to work with on our website for the Petite École Kentoise. They made the whole process easy, were responsive and efficient, and delivered exactly what we needed. They really went above and beyond to make sure everything looked great. Highly recommend them if you're looking for a team who are both professional and a pleasure to work with.
